Crochet hook case – free pattern

FotoJet Collage1

Crocheting all the time gifts for family and friends makes me forget about what I want to make for myself. So I put aside for a while all the other “paso a paso crafts” projects and I passed a whole day figuring out how to make a simple but chic hook case for my crochet hooks. I had them wrapped with a hair elastic tie and sometimes it was difficult for me to find the right number of hook, but not any more.

Let´s see step by step this pattern!

  1. Acrylic brown yarn
  2. Acrylic light brown(almost beige) yarn
  3. Crochet hook 3.5mm
  4. scissors
  5.  3 wooden buttons

Step by step pattern:

With the hook 3.5mm and the beige yarn make a slip knot and chain 32.Turn.

Row 1: Chain 2 and dc till the end. (32 stitches total).

Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Now slip stitch till the end. (32 st total).

Row 3-10: Repeat row 2.

Row 11: Chain 3 and dc till the end of the row. (32 st total)

Row 12-45: Repeat row 1 till row 11 3 more times! At the end your piece will look like the photo. Fasten off!

With the brown yarn and the same 3.5mm hook make a knot and chain 33.

Row 1: Make 33 single crochet.

Row 2-60: sc till the end of each row. (33 stiches total)

Row 61: 1 sc to the first 3 stitches, chain 4 and skip the next 4 stitches, 1 sc to the next 7 stitches, chain 4 and skip the next 4 stitches, 1 sc to the next 7 stitches, chain 4 and skip the next 4 stitches, 1 sc to the last 4 stitches. (33 stitches total)

Row 62-63: 1 sc at each stitch. (33 stitches total)

Now put the beige piece on top of the brown and sew them together with the hook and the brown yarn making slip stitches at the 3 sides. leave a space of 2cm at the right side for the wooden buttons.

Insert between the two pieces a cardboard that will it to the size of the hole!

Close the last side with the same procedure.

Sew the buttons at the space we left next to the beige piece.

Your case is ready! you can organize your hooks like at the photo!

You’re gonna totally love it! It´s soooo pretty and practical!

Thanks for stopping by!
